Allow around 60cm of table edge per person. A 120cm (4ft) table seats four comfortably. A 150cm table seats four to six. A 180cm (6ft) table seats six with ease.

Round tables suit smaller rooms and feel sociable. Everyone can see and chat to each other. Rectangular tables seat more people and fit longer rooms. They're ideal if you entertain often.

Leave at least 75cm between the table edge and the wall. That gives enough room to pull chairs out. Around 90cm is better if people need to walk behind.

Wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Dry it straight away to avoid water marks. Use coasters and placemats for hot dishes. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight to protect the finish.

A compact round table works well in tight corners. Our 80cm round table suits two to four people. Folding chairs, like those in the Savoy set, store neatly away.
